Founder, DCAD board liaison, PR Director and event chairperson of the ongoing biannual international event, D.C. Deaf Film Festival (formerly DCAD ASL Film Festival and D.C. ASL Film Festival), from its inception in 2008 until 4th Festival in 2011.
Alexander is a member of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) since 2006. Alexander also volunteers some of his time helping and serving other community organizations over the years (see below for some of the examples).
Served as a media specialist and committee member on the USA Deaf Sports Federation (USADSF) 2009 New Year's Eve Fundraising Gala Committee.
Ran the live fundraising event at the event on December 31, 2008.
Alexander is a member of the Board of Directors for the Deaf Community Services of San Diego, Inc. Alexander was a member of the District Columbia Association of the Deaf (DCAD) from 2007 to 2011. He also was a member of the Kendall Parent Teacher Association (KPTA) and the Clerc Center Community Advisory Committee (CAC) from 2009 and 2010, respectively, until 2011.
Served as the Vice President and a Board of Directors member of DCAD from 2007 to 2011.
Former director/team leader of the DCAD Public Relations team.
Former member of the Web Planning Committee.
Former co-coordinator and board laison member of the Event Planning Committee responsible for numerous community events (e.g., Wine & Cheese Tasting Event, All Hallow's Eve Costume Ball, State Conference, Community Workshops, and Town Hall meetings).
Served as a KDES/MSSD Teacher representative on the Clerc Center CAC from its inception in 2010 until 2011.
CAC is a standing committee that serves as a general advisory oversight body to the Clerc Center focusing on accreditation self-study process, NCLB implementation and other specific high-priority areas to meet the diverse needs of the Clerc Center community.
